Acces to .ice file

Hi,

I'm installing an external Flexlm server I'm at the beginning, I need to put the .ice file on /opt/Alcatel-Lucent/data/licenses but how can I access to the .ice file on my dongle ?

the ice file dose not come from the dongle. it is supplied by Alcatel. I normally log an e-sr and tell them the number on the dongle (normally 9-xxxxx i think from memory) and the Alcatel PO number. they will provide a .ice file for your services based on what was ordered and the dongle id.

Thank you, I have now the .ice but when I put it in /opt/alcatel-Lucent/data/licenses and then restart the flexlmd service, the service failed when starts, there is a part of log:

On my dongle It's noted ID9-0911XXXX and in my .ice file I have this:

SERVER ot-flexlm FLEXID=9-3040XXXX 27000
USE_SERVER
VENDOR ALCFIRM

It's not the same ID it's normal ? And why my log say "no mac address" until of bad ID ?

If you sent ID A and license came with ID B then someone made a mistake. Ask Alcatel to generate correct ones.

Thank you, that's what I thought, sorry but I don't know anything about this product.

So I have to ask Alcatel for generate correct .ice with one of my dongle ID? And why have I two dongle with different ID ?

And last question why my log say MacAdress when it's ID.

Hello,
In case of duplicated callserver you can have two dongle with different IDs. Then you can setup two external FlexLM servers, duplicated also. But you should have also two .ice files.

Yeah...agree...how on earth are you installing it? :S sorry but hate products installed by non trained personal, then customers complain about products when problem is the installer

I'm ACSE OXE, 8770 and know old OpenTouch but not the global solution OTBE.

I'll ask a re-host for my ID.
