How to autobackup any configuration changes?

Post by ChrisT »

Hello all,

I am new in the Alcatel world and I would like to auto backup any switch configuration that has been changed and saved. To whoever have worked with Cisco switches, I am looking for something like the archive option in the Cisco devices?

I would like to auto backup the configuration to a tftp server whenever we save the configuration. And preferably to see which account saved the configuration (I have 2 accounts on the switch).

Thank you so much in advance.

best way is to use an external tool to pick the configuration from the switches - f.e. omnivista 2500. With copy commands within the switches it is possible to push the config to tftp. But there is no easy way to perform them periodic within the switches.

Yes, in the RN for the newest release you can find an overview with the supported omniswitches. In OV4.3R3 also the 6465 are supported. And so also the backup (also sceduled) should work.
