A customer wants to use OTMS in their virtual blade server, but, since they don't want to fix VMs on specifics physical servers, because the use of the dongle, they want to use FlexLM in physical servers.
ALUE only provides templates for virtualized FlexLM Servers (ovf, vmdk, etc).
So, i installed CentOS 7, but ALUE does not provide the installation of the application FlexLM and drivers for the dongles.
I copied it from a dpeloyed FlexLM in virtual environment to the physical, but i'm having trouble to have the dongle to be detected with its ID.
lmutil lmhostid -flexid shows "" as ID.
lsusb shows Alladin dongle connected, so i assume physically everything is ok.
I had to transfer also the aksusbd, winehasp and hasplmd daemons, but it does not work yet.
Any ideas?
I can't find neither the files for installation (only versions from 2015 that i assume will not work for OT 2.3), nor documentation about it.
true, its just the dongle. forgot that ot cannot connect to the dongle its only the flexlm server that can
back to the "what licences" are used if you put a basic copy of vmware on a pc? dont need the fancy vmotion etc.
isn't there a special process to obtain a dongleless license for OT?
Sure, I think this one has a validity time and needs to be replaced from time to time but pick your poison.
Well thanks you all.
But, officially ALUE does not support FlexLM on physical server, so the solution was to really convince the customer that's the only option.
