Hi, I have a 6860E running 8.2.1.278R01 running PVST+.
I have two ports configured for a particular vlan, but one of them is showing blocked, when checking vlan membership.
Why am I seeing the Primary port duplicated, along with the bridge ID? I've tried rebooting the switch but to no avail.
Copied output below:
Spanning Tree Port Summary for Vlan 323
Oper Path Desig Prim. Op Op Loop
Port St Cost Cost Role Port Cnx Edg Guard Desig Bridge ID Note

2/1/43 BLK 19 2 BACK 1/1/43 PTP NO DIS 8143-e8:e7:32:ea:6c:1f

Thanks in advance,
John
PVST+ & Blocked Ports
Re: PVST+ & Blocked Ports
Works as expected
You have two ports to a specific switch, transporting the same vlans.
One of the links is blocked. thats perfectly fine
You have lacp (agg 1)
you have a device on 1/43 forwarding in vlan 123
you have whatever Switch (no port type edge) connected to 2/43 which is backup Port to another link

Re: PVST+ & Blocked Ports
It was discovered the equipment vendor was doing something unauthorized, which caused spanning tree to block ports.
They have since rectified the issue.
