How to get out of miniboot/uboot!
Hi,
I wanted to factory reset my alcatel 6860 e the other day and accidentally deleted all of the files under /working and /certified. After that configuration my alcatel wouldn't exit miniboot even if I reboot the device, please advice me on what I can do to resolve this issue.
1. Get out of miniboot
2. Factory reset the switch.
Thank you in advance to the people that help!

?
You killed not only the vcboot.cfg but also the .img?
That was the Switch Operating system. You can not get out of Miniboot and reset. there is no OS to boot.
You need to restore the AOS files.
Afaik there is some special image - for 6900 it was named TRescue.img, for OS10k Rrescue.img unsure what is needed for a 6860.
The image can be put on a USB stick and allows recovery with "run rescue"
Open a SR or wait for Silvio to answer.
Next time do it differently.

Thank you for your reply.
I have read the manual and determined that the file I need is 'Rrescue.img'. May I know how I can get the file?

Hi,
Can you please brief it in detail as I am facing same Issue. The link you have shared above I have gone through and download two packages"1.urescue.rar & 2.urescue85r1.img.zip" to my local machine & un-zipped both the packages. In USB drive I have created "6860" folder & inside that I have created "certified" folder also copied "Urescue.img" file from urescue85r1.img folder to root of the USB.
mount /usb.
ls /usb
6860 System Volume Information
FOUND.000 Urescue.img
verifying images on usb
/usb/6860/certified/Uos.img does not exist
And started "run rescue"
1. Facing Authentication failure[ User: admin & Password: switch]
2. Where can I find or download Uos.img file to put it in USB drive in 6860/certified directory
Output
============
Rescue Utility v2.0
The Rescue Utility reformats the switch compact flash memory.
All files in compact flash will be lost and replaced with the
contents of the /usb/6860/* from the USB storage device.
This will take at least 10 minutes.
Do you want to continue (y/n)? y
mount /usb.

Hi,
the rescue-file into the root of the stick (you have written this correctly). But the Uos.img is the "normal" AOS image file. You can take it from any software package (prefered the newest one).

Silvio

Hi,
do you have used the rescue image from here https://dokuwiki.alu4u.com/doku.php?id=6860_rescue (the one for 8.5.1)? And put the file into the root of your stick?
you need a Uos.img and put them in the usb directory 6860/certified/
If you do not have any: normaly you find it in business portal from alcatel, you can ask your distributor (or wherever you have bought the switch) or take it from another OS6860
regards
Silvio

I am very new to this alcatel switch,
Can you please briefly explain how to take it from another switch??
And also i have 4 alcatel 6860e-u28, i want to make it as a single core.. i have red the manula but still i am getting lot of confusion during the configuration time. For site urgency i made one switch as a core the remaining 3 switch need to be stackable but i really know how to do it
