Lanpower problems on 6350
Hi all,
Please see if you can help me with this...
6350-P24 and -P48 units stop feeding power to a group of 8 ports after a power cycle. I saw this happen twice, on a -P24 about an year ago, and on a -P48 yesterday. On the -P24 I tried reboot, power cycle, firmware update but nothing helped. Also no errors during the startup on in the logs. I concluded I had a hardware fault, and after a few weeks when I was preparing to replace and send it to tech support I retested the bad ports and they were back to normal. On the -P48 I did a power cycle a few minutes ago and no go. I'm gonna wait a few weeks and retest.
Both times the ports were feeding A-L APs IAP-103 and/or Aastra 7433ip IP phones. Both loads are much below the max for each port. The power sources are 525 W on the -P24 and 915 W on the -P48 no lack of power is not an issue.
I have several 6450-Pxx here but never had an issue with those.
This is very weird, has anyone seen this? Thank you in advance for any reply.

Re: Lanpower problems on 6350
This was a known issue. You have to update the switches to an actual release (maybe also the uboot).

I think I’m on the latest version. Not sure about the uboot tho. Will check. Many thanks.

Re: Lanpower problems on 6350
Hello! Wish you all a happy 2019!
Updated all switches (~30) in this site to latest available AOS/uboot-miniboot/FPGA. On the 6350s "show ni" shows that the POE SW version was updated. So maybe this issue is gone.
Thank you Silvio.

Re: Lanpower problems on 6350
Hello Mohammad,
The POE SW version comes updated with uboot-miniboot or FPGA (not sure which), there is no separate file for it. On my firmware files the versions for uboot-miniboot and FPGA are both OS6350_6.7.2_R05, which look newer than yours.
Check your versions with "show microcode" and "show ni". Here the output for one of my 6350 units:

6350-P24 stop feeding power to a group of 8 ports(port 1 to 16) after a power cycle. Just port 17 to 24 is OK!
