OS6350 Stacking
OS6350 Stacking
Hello everyone,
I'm looking for information about OS6350 stack. For now it's not possible. But i found information about that in next release this switch will support stacking.
Datasheet says: "Minimum AOS 6.7.1R04 is required for stacking capability". My question is: where can i find timeline, flow chart or something like that for AOS versions upgrade? When R04 will come?
Thank you for your help!

Re: OS6350 Stacking
Same infos at me. All has hoped with R03 stacking will introduced. But there wasn't this function. So we have to wait longer. I have no timeline - but I think it will take until 2017...

Re: OS6350 Stacking
I don't think that it will take that long, since the stacking cables are already in the new WPL.
Re: OS6350 Stacking
Hello guys,
New software release came out! Did somebody test stacking option on OS6350?

Re: OS6350 Stacking
last week I have seen AOS 6.7.1R04 first time and have successfull stacked the 6350-24/48. Automatically didn't work. You have to set the stack mode and slot id manually.

Re: OS6350 Stacking
Sorry but ... everything is in the Manual.
OS6350_AOS_6.7.1_R04_Hardware_Users_Guide.pdf page 7-2
Note. Stackable OS6350 models (see table above) have 4x1G uplink ports, two of which are capable of
5Gbps stacking. For OS6350-24/P24 switches, ports 27 and 28 can be used for stacking and, for
OS6350-48/P48 switches, ports 49 and 50 are both uplink (1Gbps) and stacking capable (5Gbps) ports.
page 7-3:
The mode of the OS6350 can be manually configured using the stack set slot mode as shown below:
-> stack set slot 1 mode stackable
The switch must be rebooted for the new mode to take affect.
..
..
..
Please don't be lazy at least try to find it in the manuals before relying on someone else who has not been as lazy.

Re: OS6350 Stacking
you need at least 6.7.1.R04 and also uboot/miniboot/fpga to update.
Than at all switches
-> stack set slot 1 mode stackable
reload the switches
Then per switch stack set slot 1 saved-slot x (where x is the new number 2, 3, 4). One of the switches keeps no 1.
than reload again.
for stacking you have to use the ports 27/28 (at 24port) or 49/50 (at 48port-switches).
