Trap Definitions with hird-Party Device Support (Import MIBs)

Post by patrikstar »

Hi everyone,

I have a Cisco Catalyst 3750G und Extreme x440-g2-24p switches in my environment and I imported cisco and extreme MIBs into the new folder cisco and extreme using "Third-Party Device Support" and "Import MIBs" features in OV 4.2.2.R01 MR-2 (Build 115, 01/22/2018)

I was expecting to see new entries in the Trap Definitions list after the new MIBs were imported, but that didn't happen and I keep getting my trap notifications in the format .1.3.6.1.4.1.1916.1.42.10.0.1

What do I wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Did you have associated the Vendor OID (f. e. Extreme .1916) with this directory? Network - discovery - Thrird-Party Device Support
I think yes. The .mib-files need to be in ASCII format. Some years ago alcatel gave me a hint how to convert (in this case Aruba-mibs) into ASCII. With a local ftp-server (f.e. WSFTP) configured only to accept ASCII (no binary) - dowload the mib-files with an ftp client from there.
If this isn't working than you have to open a SR.
Please share your result with us.... :)
