OXE to OXO SIP Networking
OXE to OXO SIP Networking
Hi all
I am setting up a network between an OXO and an OXE (8.0) and having challenges. I have managed all setting according to the guideline in the technical documentation and i fail to make a call. Every time i try to make a call it just gives 'Busy' on the display.
I have configured the routing number prefix pointing to the network number which in turn points to the external SIP gateway.
The main sip trunk group.
The External sip gateway configured with the OXO ip address
Also have configured the same on the OXO pointing back to the OXE.
Configured my trunk group and it shows all accesses are free.
Problem is i fail to dial to OXO from OXE. When i try dial i get the 'busy'. My trunk group does not even attempt to seize a channel and my t3 trace does not even see a trunk seizure.
My main SIP trunk group has the ABC-F as stipulated in the manual.
Is there any reason why this is failing that i should check
Kind regards

Re: OXE to OXO SIP Networking
For SIP calls you cannot use t3 trace.
From system doc (system doc/ IP-PCX Networks/ SIP/ SIP generalities/ Maintenance)
•Trace between the motor and the proxy ("real" SIP messages)
cd /usr2/servers
motortrace n (with two useful trace levels: n = 2 or 3)
traced &

Thanks Vad will try this and update.
Re: OXE to OXO SIP Networking
Hi Vad/All
I tried the traces and it seems its not even posting any traces. The minute you try the routing number it gives "busy". My assumption is the PCX is failing to seize any channell. I say so because i try this while monitoring the SIP trunk group trkstat - r and their is no attempt at seizure of any access. I have managed my routing number with network routing table 0 and in the tblae have pointed to external sip gateway 0 as well . The trunkgroup to use is managed as the main SIP trunk group whis has all accesses free. See attached trace on an attempt...

Re: OXE to OXO SIP Networking
Did you manage or configure SIP as VoIp,protocol? By,default it is H323.
Did you assigned (in OXO), the amount of up channels used, for VoIp?
Did you managed (in OXO) ARS prefix numbers for VoIp call?
Can you summits a backup of the OXO?

Re: OXE to OXO SIP Networking
Another question?
It is allow on network to do ping? If yes, try to ping the OXO from the OXE.
Try to ping the OXE from any device on OXO side, maybe the router, itself

Re: OXE to OXO SIP Networking
Ok Aflores will do so. I however have done pings from the OXE to the OXO and was successful but will do the reverse and advise.
Re: OXE to OXO SIP Networking
excuse byt there's no call on your trace file? please launch the mototrace and make a call
your release is the R 8 check for the syntaxe of motortrace or equivalent!

Re: OXE to OXO SIP Networking
Hi Haroun
Its the same syntax on rel 8. That's i think is the major challenge as i mentioned earlier. My routing number gives me "busy" as soon as i dial it and there is no activity whatsoever on the sip trunk group of seizure of a trunk. Looks like its not even attempting to make a call yet it gives busy.
Check trace with calls being made motortrace 5

Re: OXE to OXO SIP Networking
So you must check again the SIP environment configuration on OXE.
