How to implement timer in DSP32C?

I was going through the data of DSP32C, and noticed that it does not contain timer. THEN, what is the way to implement timer functionality in DSP32C?
On searching over internet for "Lucent Technologies" forum, I got navigated here. Will this forum provide guidance for me to understand this? or Please, let me know, in which forum should I describe my requirement?
