Voicemail messages not playing back from outlook to IP touch phones

Post by akhurram »

Have Alcatel system when someone leave a voicemail it send the VM as an outlook email attachment. User get 2 options either to play VM on PC from email which works fine but when chosen the 2nd option (as not all users have head phone to listen the messages privately) to play the VM on IP touch Phone it does not play the message on the phone or no audio if the call comes through.

Does anyone have faced this issue. How to locate the document for initial setup as contractor helping us is always dodging the bullet on asking the same question again and again regarding how to do base setup. As no benefit of advanced troubleshooting when initial setup incase is broken.

There should be a Voice Mail application created on OXE as External SIP Voice Mail, so if you dial this number it should work by asking your extension and password at least when dialed directly. If that doesn't work then the VM app won't work neither.
As no sound, seems a codec issue, try at least to dial directly first and see what happens.
