Cycled traffic

We have noticed on our traffic graphs that every four hours the AP are talking back to our 4308 for 30 minutes. Does anybody know what this traffic is and is there a way to adjust this. It seemed odd to us that the conversation would 30 minutes. It doesn't matter the speed of the path to the AP's each one is 30-60 minutes.
