A new guy in the alcatel world

Post by DarkManiak »

Hi all
I'm new to this alcatel world, i've just been hired, i've never anything about this and i'm supposed to learn how to give remote support without a course or a manual or a testing area, just a PC, a 56k modem and 2-3 senior technician that tell me everyday that i can't learn this just watching them working by telnet connections but i should have worked on site for a couple years.
Wish me luck :)

Yep. You are correct!!
Normally, it is better to have some hands-on experience on the product. However, you can get better day by day based on your involvement.
I guess you have a lab system to try everything before confirming the solution to the Customer. Keep yourself focused on the Customer issues and see your troubleshooting skill improving day by day.

This is the best advice that OP can get. If you don't have practical experience, you'll have to try harder to learn the troubleshooting skills, but keep focused and you WILL keep getting better.
