6860 and 6900 latest and stable OS

Hi, All

Its been a while since I was doing Alcatel device and Iget lost of track (forgot most of it). Now I have a new project to deploy Alcatel devices.

Just need advise if 8.4.1.170 is the latest and stable release. Planning to deploy this version in both 6860 and 6900.
Anyone who might have been using this OS? Any issues encountered?

Also last thning, we purchased Advance routing which will be deployed in 6860E, where can we activate this license? I believe its in the web or some sort.

I think AOS_8.4.1.229 (8.4.1R02) is the latest release, but a new one is probably just around the corner (old is from November, new releases roughly every 3 month)

Licence: you need to put the license to the device and then issue license apply

-> license apply file /flash/swlicense.dat
The switch will reboot after the license is applied.

Hi jagzeer,

In order to activate the license on OS6860 switches, you need the following information:
MAC Address & Serial Number of the switch and activation number.
The first 2 are easy to obtain by issuing "show chassis" command.
For the last one, it depends if you received the activation number or just the digital confirmation.
1. If you received the activation number, just go to https://support.esd.alcatel-lucent.com/ ... seData.jsp and fill the form ( you will be prompted to download license file )

2. If you have only the order confirmation, please go to https://support.esd.alcatel-lucent.com/ ... mQuery.jsp fill the form with your order number and follow the steps provided by the portal

Im having issue with my license installing the license.We bought advance routing but I cannot apply it.

I check the license info, there is an existing license. How do I detelet this license?

sorry for writing this: but with the last releases it is not necessary to buy the Adv. Lic. With 8.4.1 the adv. lic is installed per default. So all is okay for you. You don't need to delete the installed permanent one (only demo lic should be deleted). You don't need to install any new license
