SIP Trunk OxO CE

Post by Belnadifia »

Hello there,

I'm not an installer nor telephony pro, just a guy who love technology and stuff !

A friend who work for a company that rent equipments to another companies has recuperated an OxO Compact Edition and give it to me for free (and a 4029 + 4039 phone) !!
It came with a CPU4 and a Mixed 2/4/4 boards (XMEM Daughter board with SATA HDD).
It's the first time I touch a PABX and I'm learning alone in my room :)

I successfully get a AA and configured subscribers.
Internal call work fine, Mailbox too.

But now I'd like to get access to external call (incoming call firstly). BUT ! I haven't T0 line at home (Nor PSTN), but I have a SIP account with 2 simultaneous lines.
The problem is : My PABX doesn't allow me to setup a connection to a SIP Trunk.
I understand that there Software Licenses limitation, but I'm lost !
Also, I read that CoCPUx can't work standalone with a Compact Edition !

But If a get the VOIP4 Daughter-board of a CoCPU2 and plug it to my CPU4 instead of XMEM daughter-board, will it work ?
I mean, is the fact of getting a VOIPx plugged on CPU board, automatically give the rights to use IP function ?

Finally, I saw the BeroNet solution, a gateway beetween SIP account and T0. But it's a little bit "expensive" just to have fun with technology without a professional use :D

For you, what's the best solution ?

Thank for reading, and be gentle with my french english :)

If you don't have license maybe get an apa board which is analogic and you could use your homeland phone or connect a cheap sata sip device.
Getting license for just playing will be expensive

since its a compact, an apa will not help... no empty slot.
he needs an amix i think... or cheaper sip t0 device. in germany we use an BeIP+ from bintec...
But i dont know if it supports your provider...

Thank you for your replies.

So with a APA board plugged onto a SPA112 for example, I could use my SIP account for external call ? (Incoming and outgoing ?)
But it require an empty slot on PABX, I can find some loose OxO with 3 slot for ~90€ it sound ok for me.

I think BeIP+ equal the BerNet gateway (maybe with more functions ?)

How much cost a license for SIP trunk ? (And where do you buy it ?) (curiosity, because I can't find any information about it :/)

So plug a VOIP4 DaughterBoard on CPU4 instead of XMEM one will not grant me the rights to use SIP trunk ?

No, the board (I am not OXO Expert and haven't touched one in like 8 years) may provide only compressors to use with voip... Not sure, but no, no board gives you license access, only hardware resources to use a license.
About license you need to contact a BP, search them at your country list directory at Alcatel-Lucent.com

I see, than you again ! (Well, I buy a CoCPU2 for nothing, but it's ok, it will be usefull one day I guess :D (and it cost me just ~30€))

The APA board seem to be the best solution !
Since I get an included free external call (landline and mobile) with my ISP (but they don't give SIP password, they only loan SIP phone (or SPA112) preconfigured) and I have one more SIP account (with password, but no free call)

To be sure :
-I buy an APA-4 Board
-I plug 2 FXS of preconfigured SPA112 to 2 FXO of APA-4 card
-I plug 2 FXS of my SPA112 (my SIP account) to 2 FXO of APA-4
-I can setup OxO to use my ISP phone for outgoing call and my own SIP account for incoming call ?
-No licence needed ?

EDIT :
On my CPU4 Board, there is a "SLI 1/2" port. Isn't for Analog ?
Hmm sory, now I know that SLI is for analog Terminal Only, not analog trunk

Hey, the AMIX-444-1 looks great ! Compatible with the compact Edition, 4 analog trunk, 4 analog interface and 4 digitale interface !!
