4760 Change Permission via telnet Group pickup

Post by peterm »

Hi
I have a user that was in a pickup group RES. Her number was 9846 she needed to have direct indial which would not work on 9846.
In Telnet I ran the listout command and found phone number 9559 listed as a spare number. I set up her details in this number and the direct indial works.
My problem now is when she logs in on her handset model 4035T and puts in the number 9559 it comes up as unauthorized.
In the user settings where it is listed Pickup Group Name I have put in RES which is the same group on her old number.
I have tried logging in via settings on the hand set where it says group in and I press apply it still says unauthorized.
I can not work out if there is another setting that I need to change to add her to be authorized in the RES pickup group.
I only have access via Telnet and cannot use the Omnivista 4760 interface.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Hello Peter,

Were you able to get the 4035 in service?
Do you try to login the extension to a pickup group with group in prefix?
Is the phone locked?

I don't really understand, what you tried to do and what isn't working?

To use the pickup group, you need a ringing call on a phone in that group, to retrieve it.

Regards
Mario

Hi Mario
Before things changed Clients phone number was 9846.
In the morning the client would press a button on the handset labelled LOG IN it would then ask her to input a number, She would input her phone
number 9846 it would then ask if she wanted to use headset and she would reply yes. Then when there was a need such as someone else on a call and another call came in she could pickup the new call.
Now that her phone number is changed to 9559 (which is direct in dial). She comes in and presses LOG IN and the phone comes back unauthorised.
So she can not pick up any calls. All the people in the RES pick up group LOG IN every morning and LOG OUT every night.
Cheers

It is probably because you did not assign the agent number to a group.

Not clear. We speak about PICK UP group (just answer to call, present on another set - via prefix "Group call pick-up") or HUNT GROUP ?

So 9846 is an agent from what i can read!!! so you need to set the new one up the same way and then attach it to the PG that everything else is attached to and it should work

Hi Oldboy
Thanks for the reply.
I have set up her details to another number 9559. I have checked the settings against the old phone number 9846 and against another number in the same office.
From what I can see all 3 phones are set to ACD Station = ACD Authorised phone set.Is this the setting for Agent you mentioned?
All 3 Phones are in Pickup Group Name = RES. I took photos of all screens and compared them side by side on 2 monitors with another person to make sure all settings were the same.
Cheers
Peter
