OmniVista2500 - is this possible?

Post by babak »

Can I use OmniVista2500 to find out which port the user's device is connected to (I know their Mac and IP address) ?
or only manually - checking ARP on each switch (we have 40+ of them)?

Yes this is possible with the locator function. But for the IP there has to be a omniswitch as routing device (to look into the arp).

Actually, if you switch ports are configured to do either 802.1x authentication, or classification ( AKA Access Guardian), you will be able to see IP address of connected devices.
Another option is to enable Device Profiling (you will need AOS8 switches for that)
