Really Poor performance after CODE upgrade

Post by ravadac »

All,

We recently updated one of our Nokia's to 21.10.R4 and in doing so, our polling times ( the amount of time in minutes that it takes to walk the device ) has gone from 4 minutes to approximately 60 minutes. The spike in the picture coincides perfectly with the reboot of the device on the new code.

Are there any SNMP settings or performance settings that may have gotten reset during the code upgrade and might explain this?

This device has been rock solid going back years, and all of a sudden, bam. Nokia has already confirmed our configuration looks okay, and that there are no hardware issues, but has anyone seen anything like this? Our latency stayed the same ( 1ms or so ), and all aspects of the polling system remained the same.

All of our polling is customized and leverage SNMP BULK requests. We do ordered indexes, and tie multiple varbinds to each request.

Re: Really Poor performance after CODE upgrade / SOLVED!

All,

Working with Nokia we were able to solve this. Nokia has identified a defect in their process and will be releasing a code fix to address this issue. In the meantime, what can be done is a CPM failover. Immediately after the CPM switchover from A -> B, our SNMP performance came back.
