FAX PARAMETERS
All these parameters apply to Fax over IP on INTIP and are linked to the T38 protocol.
System_Option
V21 redundancy depth
Number of times action repeated when transmitting V21 frames over UDP.
(Default value: 2)
T4 redundancy depth
Number of times action repeated when transmitting fax data over UDP.
(Default value: 0)
Local T38 port number
(1) : Local T38 fax port is set to value RTP port + 3 for all kind of T.38 calls
(0) : Local T38 fax port is set to value RTP port for all kind of T.38 calls
Fax ECM
Fax Error Correction Mode can be enabled to cope with transmission errors that occur during the page transmission. Fax machines that support this mode can use this feature.
NAT Support for FAX T38
This parameter is applicable when OXE sends FAX T38 through a NAT equipment (Network Address Translation) or a Firewall.
To avoid port blocking by a Firewall, The GD/INTIP must initiate the communication.
This is done by sending a T.38 “no-signal” packet.
This parameter will enable or disable this option.
By default the value of the parameter is FALSE (disabled).
The customer may change it to TRUE (enabled) to allow FAX T.38 through Firewalls.
Inhibit the T38 negociation
5.0Ux : Allows to inhibit the T38 negociation. The T38 negociation can liberate the communication with some H323 equipment, since its value is H323v2+ (T38 is h323 v3).
Enable T38 nego = 0.
Disable timer for fax protection
R5.1 : To reduce the cases of intempestif changes from voice to fax, a 60sec timer has been added. If a communication has not switched to fax before the expiry of the timer, it will stay in voice.
The timer is enabled by default (=0).
Fax Relay Max Rate
INTIP and GD/GA only.
A possible workaround for fax relay, when the default max rate does not give 100% satisfaction, could be to reduce the max rate.
Default value is 9600bps.
Only 4800, 7200 and 9600 are possible today.
Higher speeds, like 12000, 14400 or 33600 could be possible with the "Fax Transparency" feature.
Reserved for specialists.
V21 JitterBufferLength
A Fax-Relay feature in proprietary mode. It protects against IP Jitter. It is the number of V21 packets to be buffered before being processed by DSP. The default value is 7. The permissible values are 0-7. The value of 0 is treated as 7 for backward compatibilty. For NGP couplers this value is used in T38 mode.
T38 only
This boolean allows to exchange T38 faxes between two OXE devices :
True : All faxes sent or received over IP use T38 mode.
False : Only H323 and SIP use T38 protocol to send and receive faxes over IP. Other faxes over IP (VPN IP or inter ACT) use proprietary fax relay mode.
Remarks : Manual RESET of all INTIP/GD couples MANDATORY to take into account the parameter modification
