PREPROGRAMMED MESSAGE
This table makes it possible to define the preprogrammed messages used for mini-mail system between digital sets UA (see USERS).
Message Type
Languages 1 to 4 correspond to the parameters set in the system for display
Secretary set mini-mail system is not concerned by this table.
Select one of the following choices :
- Messages in Free State for language 1 - 2 - 3 - 4
The set is free (out of call). The user can choose one of these complete messages or message to be completed and send it in the mailbox of his correspondent if his correspondent possesses a mailbox.
- Messages in communication for language 1 - 2 - 3 - 4
During a call and if the correspondent does not answer, the user can choose one of these complete messages or message to be completed and send it in the mailbox of his correspondent if his correspondent possesses a mailbox..
- Messages for Attendant for language 1 - 2 - 3 - 4
The attendant can choose one of these complete messages or message to be completed and send it :
- either on the screen (in this case the message is validated by the user to indicate it has been read),
- or in the mailbox of his/her correspondent (if he/she has got a mailbox)
As an example, the attendant uses these messages to indicate a call is presented (a call from Mr. XXXX to you), to let a message which indicates a call has arrived (e.g.: Mr XXXXXX has called), to indicate someone is waiting for him/her at the reception, etc...).
- Apology Messages for language 1 - 2 - 3 - 4
The user can cause a message to be displayed to the calling party.
These messages are useful when the user cannot go off-hook for a major reason (absence, meeting, appointment ...).

Each message can contain up to 40 alphanumerical characters maximum.
The parts to be completed by the user are symbolized by the characters:
- "*" for each digit to be completed (e.g. : directory number, time ...).
- "@" for each character(either letter or digit) to be completed (e.g. : meeting room is dialled in letters and digits).
- "%" if the text to be completed consists of characters (either letter or digit) and if the length is undefined (a single @ is sufficient for the user to complete up to a total of 128 characters : predefined characters plus entered characters).
The messages which contain parts to be completed by letters (% or @) will not be presented to the user if his set is not provided with an alphanumerical keyboard).
