Hi,
this is in regards to NTP server configuration. I have followed the steps as given in the documentation to configure OXE as a NTP client to receive clock synchronization from a windows XP . Also from the internet i found docs , how to configure XP as an NTP server , that is also done. but when i go for instant synchronization from the NTP menu in swinst... i get the following error after i enter the ip address of the XP pc.. " no server suitable for synchronization found ".
Thanks in advance
NTP : no server suitable for synchronization found...

Re: NTP : no server suitable for synchronization found...
(Assumed your config is okay...)
The OXE NTP doesn't trust Microsoft.
Microsoft says: We do not guarantee and we do not support the accuracy of the W32Time service between nodes on a network. The W32Time service is not a full-featured NTP solution that meets time-sensitive application needs.
Try a third party NTP like http://www.meinberg.de/english/sw/ntp.htm
ntpdate works?
(swinst -> stop NTP then on shell ntpdate xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx )

Can you do a ntpdate manually?
Is the IP configured correctly and reachable?
Windows Firewall ok?

That's bad. This should work.mustafa.ahmad wrote:when i try to do ntpdate from root , it gives the same error...
Ping is not NTP. Firewall & Routing correct?mustafa.ahmad wrote:from pbx i can ping the PC,, and from PC i can ping the pbx.
