8039 - Half Duplex Communication in Speaker Mode

Hi Experts

We are facing issue with 8039 Phones when caller is in Speaker mode, communication is half duplex... Raised an SR with ALE but they are referring to a TKC artcile for OXE with 40XX series sets but 8039 Data sheet mention Full Duplex speaker.

Quite confused since the older system that we replace with OXO Conenct supported full duplex communication and cannot justify that the new system does not have this functionality. Any thoughts on this?

Strange. For OXO (i have doc for OXO 8.1) was written for 4029/4039 (feature) - Full duplex hands-free - Yes.
Do you test in TDM environment or VoIP?

It is complete TDM environement... customer moved from legacy Nortel system to OXO Connect... Their cabling is old so cannot move to IP and OXO is updated with latest available release and patches

You have companies like Phybridge which sell products to allow you to use IP on old coper wires.

Hi,
There is the loudspeaker mode and hands-free mode. For loudspeaker mode, you speak using the handset and the remote partner can be heard on the loudspeaker. From your description, i suppose that you should use hands free mode. Are you sure that you are using the right option.

I'm not sure that full duplex is supported. The 8039s datasheet talks of..." Full interactive handsfree" but does not mention Full Duplex. Previous OXOs with 4000 TDM sets did NOT support Full Duplex.

PlanoPCX you are right about 8039s, post is about 8039 and 8039 clearly mention "Full Duplex Speaker"

Take special look at chapter 2.5 Switching between audio modes
