IP Desktop Softphone Bluetooth quality on specific hardware

Hello,

We bought new laptops and with this laptop line/type ( HP PROBOOK G8 ) we have sound quality problems.
Only with the combination HP PROBOOK G8 + Softphone + Bluetooth.

A different laptop line/type works fine with the same user and headphones at the same location/vlan/IP info
Same laptop with USB headphones work fine to.

Info :

HP Probook G8 ( tested on 3 laptops )
Windows 10
Intel Wireless Bluetooth ( drivers from HP and from Intel tested) 22.20.x and 22.40.x - Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160mhz
IP softphone version : 11.5.2 but also tested 11.5.0 and 11.5.1
Headset : Bose QuietComfort but also tested with Apple Airpods. When we use this headset on a HP probook G4 it works fine.
Windows version : Windows 10 enterprise 20H2

The quality is always bad, not with some or many phone calls.


Does anybody have any tips on where to look for a sollution? Already made a case with HP for troubleshooting but they are pointing to the Softphone software.

I Looked for logs without much luck.

Hi,
From the description, the issue should be between the headphones and the labtop.
I check the bluetooth specs and on HP G8 the version of bt is 5, on the HP G4 the version is 4. From what i saw on the internet, the headset does not supports BT Version 5.

We also tested with Apple airpods ( This shows BT 5.0 in the specs) with the same problem. Any other ideas ?

try with another app (ex: Teams, Zoom, ...)

O did I forget to mention that? Sorry. Teams/Webex works great. Just not the softphone.

You can open an eSR on ALU, but i am afraid that the answer will be that those headsets does not belong to the list of the compatible headsets.

yea i'm afraid switching to softphone from opentouch was a bad idea

We just updated to version 11.5.3 but still having problems. Does anybody have the same problems as we with the softphone?
