Installing OXE Patch failed

Hello everyone,

I tried to install the latest R12.3.1 Patch via the 8770 but it keeps failing. I tried it with Patch 19 and 20 but i get the same results.
Form the Logs i can see it succeeds the "Version transfer Operation" and the "Remote Load Operation", but at the Remote Installation Operation i get the Error:
ERROR: LINUX patch IS NOT CORRECTLY INSTALLED ERROR: Bad packages installation
It works until "End of remote copy for pkg part files" and then i get this.

Very helpful to give a restricted access link.
Anyway it's not a good idea to load a patch via 8770 if you do not understand what is really going on.

In this case it was not about my knowledge but about the software version.

Here is the TC2746
1.2 Problem
The problem is described as the internal ALE reference
CROXE-17305 - M5-NRT: M5.204.3 Patch up-gradation failed in inactive partition
The following errors can be seen observed during an OXE patch installation:

It happens in Technical Release version M5 when installing any patch above & the same in M4.501.12 when
installing patch .13 and above
The condition to reach this issue is related to the partition duplication if it was done with no other version
or patch installation.

1.3 Work-around
Perform a full installation instead of installing the single patch!
For instance if the oxe is in M5.204.2.a on inactive partition & the next patch M5.204.5.b must be installed
you have to do a full installation of M5.204 + M5.204.5 + M5.204.5.b & perform a partition switch.
For this kinf of installation use either SOT or “easy install” menu (feature available only from M5 Released).
PC Installer (phased out) should work as well (but installations are no more tested & no support).

1.4 Solution
After having installed the static patches:
M4.501.14
M5.204.4 (not released yet. Intermediate beta patch before MD1)
The problem will not occur anymore for the future patches to come.
