Is it possible to connect OXE PRA and AVAYA PRA with CAT6A cable without any E1 modem as intermediate When the distance between both PABX around 300 m
If so what are the cable pairs for Tx & Rx

Hi

It might work due to the quality of cable. Altough technical documentation refers to 300 m max length for this kind of interface. The quality of cable will be the key for this kind of connection. But I would not do it. Have you ever thought about fiber media converter or SIP trunk?

Best regards.

Hi !

The E1 is carried over a G703 line, specs. is around 1000-1200 m , We have succesfully running a crystal over this for many years. BUT be aware of
the overvoltage in BOTH ends of the cable to protect the system and the cable.

Hi !

We use a twisted pair of normal telecom std (0.7 mm DC- 1Mhz with prot. shield and self sealing for evt. water damage) will do.
But we used a 10 pair cable for mechanic strenght and took 2 non adjacent pairs from the pack. It had a outer shield that we connected to the (metal)protected earth. (same point as the grounding of the lightning protectors).

Yepp, indoors no problem, but outdoors , cable in the ground no no. Still it is advised to protect the cable/eq. for overvoltage. So use a CAT6E.
