Did someone try to install Omnivista R4.1.13.x on XP SP2 within a Vmware session
(Vmware workstation 5.5 or 6) ?
When I create a node in the system directory, it doesn't link to the IP of the Pabx for that node.
Even telnet within Omnivista doesn't work. I get the info : bad ip connection.
Within the vmware session I
- Can ping and telnet to the Pabx node in a dos prompt.
- Node/Netwk correctly configured in omnivista
- Configuration of the node correct.
Of course install of omnivista within that XP went smoothly.
Terminal Services switched off.
Shoot if you have any idea or if you tried it too.
Thx

Well.. previous versions of the phone application were not running on Linux.. VMWARE use intel architecture, so the linux version. I'm not sure you can run any versions previous to 5.0LX.. Anyone tried ? Install might go OK, but nothing is going to work on it

Frank, I think he has Windows XP on top of VmWare and on top of that Omnivista.frank wrote:Well.. previous versions of the phone application were not running on Linux.. Re: Vmware, Omnivista R4.1.13.x, XP not working
I found the reason for the problem :
After installing Omnivista on a real PC I noticed that the Firewall blocked all Omnivista ports even though during the install of Omnivista I asked it to configure the firewall.
Seems there is some kind of bug in the installscript of Omnivista with regard to the firewall in Windows.
A+
