Safely remove Master chassis from stack?

Post by tonie16 »

Good day Guys,

I need to shutdown and remove the master chassis from the OS6860E switch stack. What is the safest way of removing the master?
Can I just do command, virtual-chassis shutdown , and then physically remove the chassis ?

Thank you,

Yes - the shutdown command for the master-chassis is possible (and the best way). You also can do a "hard" power down of the master. In both cases one of the slaves will takeover the master role.
