Steps for Putting a Phone in Service

Hi
What would be the steps involved putting a new phone such as a ALE-500 into service on a OmniVista 8770? I cant seem to find
any documentation. I know this is a basic question but i really appreciate any help possible.

Hi
You need to have DHCP Enabled in your network using OXE and make sure the phone is on the same network.
If not, you need to do the network configuration manually in the phone.
Or you can use an external DHCP Server (Windows) with options for the bootp

In 8770 under configuration / users , just add a new extension, type ALE-500
When the phone boot it will ask for the extension number. Enter it. And off you go.

If you need more information, then please read the doc or get some training.
It's a very powerful but complicated PBX.

Thanks for the response. I know its basic but when you inherit a phone system and they wont pay for certain support and told to figure it out it
relieves some pressure. Thanks

Totally understand. Just download the documentation, and read the install and admin part. that will greatly help.
