My first post so please be gentle...
We recently upgraded Omnivista to V4.2 to accommodate new sites and lose a buggy V4.1.
We have a number of Windows Power Users who used Directory, Reporting and Configuration modules on previous versions without any problems. However, while Directory works fine, they cannot use Configuration and it times out waiting to connect to the PCX. Those of us who log in to Windows with Administrator access can use all modules without any problem.
The vendor suspects our SOE is to blame (Windows XP) but this has not changed for a couple of years and has only occurred since the 4.2 upgrade. PC's have full read/write access to C: & D: drive.
Any clues ???

What PBX ?
Probably the upgrade failed although it said everything was OK.
Can you do a full sync of the system directory (using the PBX nodes) ?
I am almost sure you cannot do the full sync or there are at least some errors.
Does every application (conf,dir,..) start without an error (lower window, right hand side) ?

sounds right luckyme2....check you adfexc password, sounds like users have some limits, i have found in the past ftp was turned off to users causing issues connecting to systems....worth a try...

What about the logs ? (/4760/logs), do you have any error messages ?

Apologies - we upgraded from V4.0 to 4.1.
Scheduler provides a full sync each night that says it completes successfully. Main PBX is a 4400 running 7.1, others are OXE's with a mixture of 5.1, 6.2, & 7.0.
Omnivista Clients running on a PC that has logged in as Power User can start the Config and Reporting modules without error but just times out connecting to any PBX.
Same problem is being experienced at another site in our organization that recently went to V4.1.
Busy on other projects at the moment but hope to check out PC firewall settings and log files tomorrow and let you's know.

Start by cleaning the MIB downloaded when connecting to a PCX.
Goto config module -> menu config -> object model save. Delete them all.
Reconnect to a node.
Did the IP address of the server change ?
Is telnet working on these nodes ?
