PIMPhony Issues

Post by Krusty65 »

I have issues (Well who doesn't) but in this case it is with PIMPhony that classy piece of software to run on the OxO

On a customers site running the latest version of 3.1 and using the latest release of Pimp 5.1 (build 369) I can sucessfully install and use the app on my laptop, however if I attempt to install it on any other PC (both the customers and some of my co workers) the install fails just after the point where I tell the wizard that I wish to use a multimedia based connection.

The failure code is "Wizard failed to find all of the VoIP parameters. Multi media set can not be used (81)"

The system is running a CPU-1 with the VoIP8 board mounted on the CPU.

Just to reitterate Pimphony will work on the site but it would appear that it only works on my laptop (I have offered to sell them my laptop for a resonable price but they did not seem too keen on that :) )
When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around.
But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.

Check if proper services are started on their computers and if firewalls are well configured (all UDP and TCP ports used by pimphony are allowed).

Follow up on this one,

Found that if I installed the latest build of 4.4 which would work then installed 5.1 the new version would ask me to uninstall the previous (it would also ask if I wished to save the settings to which you answer yes) then uninstall 4.4 and install 5.1.

Doing it this way 5.1 works properly.
