Re: OTUC on other Linux than RedHat
have several installations on CentOS. usually, you need correct content redhat-release to pass throught shell what check linux installation. my sysadmin told me, what CentOS and RedHat are same tream of developers, but CentOS is shareware (???) clone of redhat (in his opinion)

Re: OTUC on other Linux than RedHat
This is not a good admin,
CentOS is the complete Clone from RedHat, it is absolutly BitSimmular.
I've checked it.
It is Possible to install otuc under centos, you have to create a bootcd for centos and copy the Kickstart scripts, and then modify the redhat-release file and it is absolutly the same as on RedHat
If you need, I can send you the BootCD 4.5.???? the last, for CentOS

nobody perfect, sysadmin is not exclusion...
by the way, just finished install myphone, my messaging and myassitant OTUC 4.1 under centos 4.3...
its always a pain to start acapi... but finally it works. if you run acapi service - other parts works too.
only PSP is not started... will fix it later, its not important now.

Re: OTUC on other Linux than RedHat
i think it depends on your skill in linux... i have very basic knowlege on it. in my case everything works with CentOS 4.3. if CentOS developers change package or structure or something, what make this OS looks like RedHat for OTUC, installation will fail and you will need investigate what happens .... or buy RedHat.

Re: OTUC on other Linux than RedHat
Hmmm, my knowledge of Linux is on medium level I guess, so if OTUC installer only checks redhat-release file, it should work with any of 4.x CentOS. I'll try to check in free time.

Re: OTUC on other Linux than RedHat
The best what you can do is, use the BootCD for RedHat, and create a simular to CentOS and then you have no problems.
I've installed meany with CentOS and everything works fine.
I can share a BootCD for CentOS 4.5 if you want
