Hi All,
I'm doing some installation with Hospitality at our customer, the system was R7.1 and try to connect with PMS using IP. I Does anyone know how to trace if Oxe or PMS send message. I have heard about this before but I still find out how to do it.
Please advised.

Muchlis

Re: Traces for AHL over IP
As well as the standard trace tools (mtracer with actdbg etc) you can use tcpdump on the oxe to capture some of the information.
try "tcpdump port 2561"
or "tcpdump host xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of the PMS.
Good luck.

Re: Traces for AHL over IP
Hello Muchlis,
You can trace the messages sent to/from the PAM or PMS system as follows:
* Check that you have LINF parameter : -d under HOTEL - COMPUTER LINK
* Type srvtrace that is an on/off command enabling/disabling db trace if wanted (if on consol = status shown)
* Start tracing with traced (stop with ctrl-c)
If srvtrace is on, you can see changes made in database if for example you forward an user by AHL
Example of AHL frames:
Data sent from PBX:
1197884517 -> === TRAME SEND length=38 P~~~12345~~~DB67~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~64
Data recived by PBX:
1197884696 -> === TRAME RECEIVED length=37N~~~1234500010~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~67
Please see the system documetation for examples of different frames sent to/from PBX

Applications -> Hotel --> Computer Link
set LINF parameter : -d
quit mgr
start: traced
Then you will see the AHL frames send from and to the Front Office System and some additional trace informations.
These AHL frames look like this :
Data sent from PBX:
1197884517 -> === TRAME SEND length=38 P~~~12345~~~DB67~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~64
Data recived by PBX:
1197884696 -> === TRAME RECEIVED length=37N~~~1234500010~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~67
if you want to see only those in the trace you may start:
traced |grep TRAME
(UPDATE: replaced wrong trace command. It's traced and not srvtrace)
