Dear All ,
i got an E1 (PRA T2 ) from public provider through HDSL modem with single pair copper ) ,the only thing i configure in the PM5 is the Clock priority , i make it 60 to get synchronized to PSTN , but when i try to access this trunk group i get busy..anyone can help ?

Hi,
My guess is that your E1 is not working for the time being at layer 2 , and you must talk with the provider. (usualy you don't need to modify the clock - that is if you have the software for your country in it, if not I recommend you download it in the PCX)

First of all when installing a PRA T2 you must be shure that it is syncronised with the PSTN (you don't have any alarm led's red on it). That doesn't mean that it works. It only means that you are synchronised at physical layer.
Next you must talk to the man who created the E1 in the public exchange and
tell him to recreate your E1 with CRC (it is better for Alcatel PCX like that) and your MSN's (known as DDI's too) if you have any.

hi , thanks too much , i talked with the provider , they rectify the fault from thier side..but can you tell me whats layer1 and layer 2 , (what do they include )

Glad to hear that.

Layer 1 is the physical layer (wires and NT's) and superior layers consist of protocols (like EDSS1, QSIG for instance, for ISDN)
You can find related issues on internet if you want to get into details.
