Omni PCX Office

Post by Matt »

I am looking to supply an Alcatel Omni PCX system to a client and would like to know whether the system is stable, relable and does all that it says it does. Has anyone come across problems with the system that may deter me from recommending it.

Currently the Omni PCX is up against a Panasonix KXTDA30. Does anyone have knowledge of either system and how they stackup against each other.

You comments would be appreciated.

Regards

Matt

evaluated alcatel vs panasonic. verdict is alcatel as it's the corporate standard. like the fact that panasonic phones can be daisy chained for new lines.

Matt,

Alcatel actually does what it says :-) And it is VERY stable. I did an installation a couple of years ago with PBX in network for 20,000 users. The system did not go down once yet :-)

Matt, I've worked on both of those systems, and I can tell you that the Alcatel is going to be the best pick for the following reasons:

> Panasonic is a basic TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) Key-style sysetm, and is very limited in it's use of new technology. VoIP is not something this system will be able to do easily.
> Alcatel phones look cooler and get more 'Oohs and Aahs' from customers.
> Alcatel can be an Office in a box instead of just a phone system. Internet and networking on the OXO will blow the Panasonic out of the water - because it doesn't have any.
> If they outgrow the Panasonic, they basically have to throw the system away and get a bigger one. With the Alcatel, you just have to add new cards or Cabinets.
