and i did my update to R8.0
And i can't use this command anymore.
I used to connect with telnet to the main cpu then i used to do :
wermit -l /dev/scc0a
then i connect to my 4635 connected to the exc port on brma.
But R8 doesn t know wermit. I know gkermit replace wermit but doesn't know the "-l" argument.
So, if you have any idea, you re welcome.
Thanks.
With 4400 R5.0Ux, it was wermit...

Minicom.
i've put a guide how to install this terminal emulator program some time ago on forum.
Also in VoiceMail related forum, there was a heavily discussed topic how to accomplish that.
Tried to use Minicom ?

Re: With 4400 R5.0Ux, it was wermit...
yes, it uses a gkermit.
wermit was used to open a RS232c port (AKA v24) and only for that, so it was used like a 'terminal emulation program'
Minicom also opens a RS232c port, so whats the problemo huh?
Also, gkermit as many of unix* programs knows how to open files by < and >. Tried that?

Sorry to be late to answer.
Thanks you, but is it possible without using minicom ?
I've tried many options of gkermit unsuccessfully.
I "just" would like find the options in gkermit to do the same that "wermit -l"
Thanks.

If you only want to use telnet to get to the voicemail, I'm serious.. Use a MOXA box or LANTRONIX.
It will save you headache big time ..

I've read a lo of things about minicom, but i've seen the system is not supported by alcatel anymore !! so, i can't use it !!
There is no way to do the same that wermit ???

Re: With 4400 R5.0Ux, it was wermit...
The wermit is also NOT SUPPORTED.
Alcatel requested using two multitech modems for connecting the 4400 plus 4635.
Or, it was like that, on training session about 4635 there was two guys who knew some thing about VM and a lot of 'new' guys, also there was this trainer from Alcatel who was not very skilled with 4635 (it was like 5+ years ago) .
And, being bored with training session (noting new, huh), one of guys took the RS232c cable from 4635, disconnected from multitech modem and put to connecting box.
A minute later 30+ ACSE engineers and mr. Trainer took paper and noted down every thing
This is just a story
, but well, after that, Alcatel does not insist on buying two Mulitech modems.
Still, they insist on Multitech (Microcom works well, too).
Now, ALU recomends MOXA, but well if you don't have a moxa, use what you got.
Minicom is very useful terminal emulator.

Maybe you got OV 4760 on site, connect serial cable from OV PC to 4635 and run terminal emulator on OmniVista, that also could be used, IF you have remote access to OV (like with PC anywhare + modem or some VPN and remote terminal).
