Before using command line to access to 4635, you need to do some hardware arrangement. Use a serial port from Connecting Box and connect it to the 4635 board. Then you can use minicom. Check in the forum, I remember that someone already explain this with details. Regards.

In OXE you have more than 1 serial port. Use 1 for the modem, the other for 4635. Regards.

that minicom is your only real (free) option. But it's not supported by alcatel.
The wermit thing only worked on UNIX versions (4400 R4 and older)
Otherwise you can invest in a serial-ip convertor and stick the thing on the LAN!

I think that i put a Minicom/Midnight Comander/XYZmodem *.rpms on forum and some guide to upload them on pabx.
Search the forum and it will work on Linux releases R5.01 Lx and never.
On R1.4 - R5 Ux only real option is wermit, as the Chorus OS is not supported anymore by it creators.
Of course if you had some RS232c<>IP converter it would be nice.
This subject was explained some time ago with details.

Hi ...
Another cool stuff is to use a LANTRONIX box (or even a MOXA box).
Lantronix allows you to telnet into a serial directly.
Pretty cool and usefull for remote access.
