4980 Wensoftphone initialization error

Post by v.durain@ater.net »

Hello,

Excuse me first for my english... Hope that you will understand me.

When i'm running 4980 on my workstation or on the Omnipcx OTS manager server, i become always "Initialization in progress". I can't send or receive a call. But when i'm trying to call the workstation, it's ringing on 4980.
This installation has run for 1 year without error, but yet she doesn't.
Is there an incompatibilty whit XP service pack. The OTS server whas not updated but the workstation does.
Where can i look for solving this trouble?

Thank's for your help.

Regards.

It sounds like an 4980 R2 Server, right?
Windows XP SP2 is supported since OTUC R3, so if its R2 then you have a problem.
Otherwise, you can check the OTS Maintanence type 300 and look if its all OK

Hi,

Thanks for your answers.

I'm working with Alcatel OMNIPCX release 3.120.24 with a w2k3 standard server with Sp1

I don't understand when you write "check IE security, add the OTUC webpage to ytour safe zones, clear the cache." because i'm not working with html, but with 4980 client software on the workstations. Can you explain me ?

regards.

Vincent.

I have found, the Ip card in the 4400 was blocked, i've reset her and all is ok now.

Thanks for your help.

V can you give me some more insight to what you did to correct this issue. What do you mean the VOIP card is blocked? Where was it blocked? A reset of the GD board cleared your issue?

I am having this issue on a customer sight not with his web softphone but rather his 4980 client itself. any response would be great.
