Ok, so usually this is what I set up first ..

IP configuration
System parameters (time zone, autostart. network/node#)
configure boards (intip, gd, ga, gpa)
Setup Entity 1 with good infos
configure misc (i4760, conferences)
get a couple of users,
configure COS
configure trunks
configure prefixes, ars
configure npd if needed, discriminator,
make a couple of tests
go ahead for the rest of users

of course, everybody has its own way.. lol

Very true.....

In germany we had an empty but preconfigured database with a lot of excel-sheets to use. This was initially made up by a guy called Wolfgang Schmidt, so it was called the Schmidt-Default which was well known throughout all german techs. These days are gone but many keep their own edition of this database make some improvements and keep it up to date in the new releases, like I do.

I can recommend you that you take some time to create your own greek database if there is no one you can get one from. It saves you a lot of time in newer installations.

If you can get some support from Alcatel ask for some configuration guides. Alcatel germany created some german documents with animated examples.

I have an excel file from Alcatel, which is used for DATABASE COLLECTION. It's a real pain in my butt.. I was thinking maybe about creating a software for database collection, or an excel spread sheet, that we could all share and work on ? Like an open source program ! :-)

Anyone up for it ?

Nice, maybe it can be posted at the documentation forum. the problem will be how to control the changes on it, someone will have to validate them.

Well.. We put it available on the site, with for exemple "Version 1.0" and any time we make a change which is approved, we update to 1.1 , 1.2 ... and so on ?

Regarding the updates, well.. Anytime someone makes a change, we can do a forum with votes...
