Connection between Alcatel-Cisco and Cisco-Avaya

Hi guys, we are making some configurations to communicate a Alcatel OXE 4400 with some Avaya Call Server (don't know the model). We have a Cisco Call Manager Express 4.1 connected with the OXE using a T2 E1 link; on the OXE we use a prefix #12 for making a call to any Cisco extension (#12+[Cisco. ext.]) and we've created a group of direct abbreviated numbers to make it more simple for the users. To communicate the Cisco CM with Avaya we are using a VLAN through the internet, almost the same way with Alcatel and Cisco, we use a prefix #15 for making calls to Avaya extensions (#15+[Avaya ext.]). Is there any way to make a communication between Alcatel and Avaya using the Call Manager as intermediary, so that the CM makes the transaltion of any Abbreviated number to communicate with an Avaya extension???I'vee tried to make a speed dial number containing on the call number part #12#15[ext.num.] but for some reason it does not work. It seems that the digit # before the 15bla bla is not recognized and gives me a message of "hang up". If it is possible to make this how to, or any other option you can propose, i'll be really thankful.

If there's no way we will have to go for the IP Trunk side .

That looks more like a Cisco issue not Alcatel. Ask Cisco Engineer what Cisco needs to receive in order to transit the call to Avaya.
The single issue that you may have in OXE is the number of digits allowed to be sent on the TG to Cisco or the number of digits defined in discriminator (if used) for the leading digit sent through to Cisco.

using # for prefix for trunking to other systems is not a good idea normally as it signifies end of dialling.... especially if you are using overlap dialling - Is the circuit CAS/R2 or ISDN?
You also may need some allow h323/sip statements in the CME box for calls comming in on a PRI then being sent across the internet

The circuit is ISDN. I've been trying to dial the number manually but for some reason, after I dial the trunk prefix to communicate with Cisco #12 it won't let me dial a # digit afterwards. Could it be some missing configuration in my trunk group???

A problem could be that Cisco needs (by my knowledge) block dialing to be sent. Show us some traces, but really you should talk to cisco engineer and agree on a configuration.
