VM creation in 8.1.0b5031

Post by mouldy »

Hi

I built a server on this version but have been unable to create the VM for document sharing. I have a Windows 7 Professional disk and key which works fine if I just build it on a PC. If I put this key into the VM creation it fails saying the key is not valid. I ave attached the failure notice.

If you have completed this, what version of windows 7 did you use? Was the key a single copy or a volume license key? Did you have any issues?

thanks in advance
Paul

Windows 7? I don't think it is supported, you should install XP.

Hi
Thanks for your answer. In the document it says if you are upgrading it will keep the XP that is already installed but if you are building new it should be windows 7. I have attached a screenshot of the config screen.

I have found the solution. A volume key cannot be used. You have to have a single user license and then it wors.

From r. 8.1 you have to install WIN 7. ( if you come from a preview rel. XP is still supported ) Yes, that is solution. I faced same issue and ALU says that multikeys doens't work at all.
I am anyway facing issues about office. I can load PDF files and presentation works well but if I try to load doc files ( for instance ) I cannot. Presentation stay in " preparation" but never works. Whic kind of Office 2007 have you intalled????
Thanks

Yes, it is. Edialslidepack.exe is running. Also tried to stop and start many times.Nothing. I am thinking issue is due to 2007 office copy I have installed. Is office has to be single one as WIN 7 ??
Thanks

Yes, definitly!! I tried to copy some files into VM and open from it and everything work well. It's a really strange behavior. I have a eSR open but Alcatel is taking time because is really strange. I will let you know... ANyway.. I really suspetc that issue is due to license of Office.....
