Common hardware?

Post by steve »

As I know there isn’t any difference between the OXO and OXE expansion cabinet.
But in this case why the Alcatel uses two different products? :?:

In the OXO part:
3EH07471AA Expansion module Rack 3
WPL price: 1300 EUR

In the OXE part:
3BA00406AB Rack3 module, with 230 V power supply
WPL price: 2300 EUR

Sorry I cannot help, I only have the catalog for the US.
Is the expansion a common hardware maybe ?
They would do that so you save money, probably..

Hello Frank,

If you use the ACTIS software:
Create an OXO and OXE (common hardware) calculation, and enlarge them with the add-on simulation. The Actis will give you two expansion cabinet with two different reference number & price :?: .

In our stock we have some OXO hardware, but we need an OXE now.
We can change the CPU of course. And it works, but I think there should be something difference between the two cabinets. (Or just the Alcatel wants to earn more money?)

No, there is nothing different between the cabinets, BUT the boards.

they are adressed to different markets: OXO for SMB's and OXE for Enterprises. OXO has several marketing limitations (for example you cannot use an IP link between two cabinets of the same PBX; it supports only HSL link).

If you check the gabinets for OXO and OXE are differents. In slot 0 for OXE you have one more connection than OXO´s.

Don't know if it makes sense almost one year after opening the post but:

There are a few differences in HW between OXO and OXE.

First of all teh OXOs have several rack-types "normal rack" and "mega-rack". - The OXE official only runs with type "mega" but i tried in lab and it still works with both of them except of some boards in slot 5-8.

Another difference is the USB-Port in front of the CS / CPU. But it only spends power, right?!

And of cause the daughterboards for VoIP are different! Looks in deed similar but are not exchangable!

Anyway, you can change the software of the different HW if you want to.
I allready flashed an OXO to an OXE and it works soooo fine! :)
