Password for root know people who install system, ask him.
next solution - google.
Not good idea publish password for root.

If you don't install or maintain 4400/OXE systems, you have no need of any passwords.

I agree. When connecting as ROOT to a Alcatel Enterprise you must know what u are doing. If you had ACFE training, you'll know the login, else there's no need.

Do you want to do anything special with it or just curious ?

I'm remotely administrating a PBX, which is in another country. The technician that worked there changed the ROOT password and the FTP user password. Now I cannot access the PBX using the NMC applications.
That's why I need how to reset the root password.

Obviously, that tech doesn´t work in the company anymore.
