Remote V24 MOXA For Call Accouting

Post by dcwilliams »

I have a MOXA box setup to a call accounting system. The SMDR records are not getting to the MOXA box but it looks the the IP configurations are correct. How can I trace on the system to see if the SMDR records are generated and are going to the IP address in the MOXA box?

I see this incident generated in the system log.

Incident number (q to quit):0276

INCIDENT NUMBER: 276
Network indicator: Alcatel 4400
OBJECT CLASS: Dhs3x_node
EVENT TYPE: ProcessingErrorAlarm (10)
PROBABLE CAUSE: Unknown (0)
SEVERITY: Major

"External accounting application P1: NO RECOVERY"
"P1: external accounting application name that generated the incident."
" If the name is <*****>, it means there is never ticket recovery from an"
" external accounting application.."
"Problem to get accounting tickets for the external application."
"It does not connect after a time."
"This incident is cyclical (every 4 hours)."
"This incident is available from the releases R1.4.1 et R1.5.2."
"The storage of the accounting tickets performs well but some files"
"can be lost for the external accounting application."
"It is required to get accounting tickets as soon as possible from"
"the doubted application."
"If it does not work, it is mandatory to check the entire accounting"
"tickets recovery link.";

Any suggestions?

mgr -> applications / accounting set parameters not only for 'files for external accouting' but also for V.24 (which tickets you want on RS232c behind moxa).
Don't know why you choose moxa, simple V24 for UA phone whould do it. Does 'account ascii' show any (not empty) files on hdd?

I assume you've got license "lock #051 Real Time Metering on V24 " equal or greater to number of users?

also, on both sides (OXE and PC): speed, parity, stop bit, xon/xoff, set all to default (9600 8N1 no xon/xoff, no hardware handshaking)
you could try to start minicom on port "/dev/rv24/b1/tty1" (1st moxa, 1st RS232c port) if you could, then accouting application does not connect to port on OXE side, BUT you could say in Minicom on OXE "send file using Zmodem" and on PC "receive Zmodem in hypertermina" and see if you have stable file transfer on about ~0.8 - 1 kBps (9600 bps) select binary files like OPSes or some small backup (not too small).
or simply type "cat somefilename > /dev/rv24/b1/tty" and see what's on pc,
and then "cat < /dev/rv24/b1/tty" and on pc select "transfer file using ASCII" in hyperterminal
in both cases you should see traffic.

It is working now. Looks like the changes that I made for the IP address of the MOXA box did not take effect until the system was rebooted.
