Stacking of OS6900

Post by devnull »

Is now possible running AOS 7.3.1.632.

You can use demo licenses if you don't have a advanced
(debug demo-license)

Here some output of two OS6900-X40 as Virtual Chassis (just one 10G link as VFL) - lab installation.

Code: Select all

-> show virtual-chassis topology
Local Chassis: 1
                                        Config
Chas Role Status Chas ID Pri Group MAC-Address

Hi,

does someone know how long demo licenses last?

Thanks

5 days.

The switches reboot after that time and all your vc-config is more or less gone:
there is no port 1/1/20 afterwards, so it's no longer in config and all lines using this are gone as well.

So it's a strict demo/lab thing ( you can of course do a debug demo-licence afterwards for new 5 days..)

Great feature!

Just a small question regarding the demo license - how to call it off? :-)
I've ran a Virtual Chassis a couple of days on demo license, then received a couple of normal "Advanced" licenses, and now the picture is this:

Code: Select all

# show license-info
                                             Time (Days)
VC device License Type Remaining
----+------+---------------+---------------+---------------
1 0 Advanced PERM NA
1 0 Data-Center DEMO 5
2 0 Advanced PERM NA
2 0 Data-Center DEMO 5
The demo "Data-Center" license is still here, and it's going to reboot my switches after 5 days, which I generally don't like. :-). There's such command as "no debug demo-license".

Is it possible to kill it in controllable way?

Try

debug license deactivate ?

I only found out about this command after reboot, so I never tried it myself.

yesterday 7.3.1.682 was released, as the VC was stable with lab build 670 (not with the first VC release). i would recommend this release before trying VC
