How to recover a corrupted 6850

Post by hamadaltaf »

Hi,

Is there a way to push a new image file to 6850 and force it to reload the new image.

For some reason the switch in my lab is gone down. When I try to connect through console, I get the following error in an infinite loop pattern.

===============================================================================
CPU: MPC8247 (HiP7 Rev 14, Mask 1.0 1K50M) at 400 MHz

U-Boot (6.3.4.265.R01) (for OS6400, OS6850, and OS6855 platforms) (Dec 15 2008 - 21:31:42)

MPC8247 Reset Status: External Soft, External Hard

MPC8247 Clock Configuration

I see a blinking amber in the OK LED indicator. Any idea on how to fix this switch?

Thanks,
Hamad

No. I am not able to interrupt this message in any way. It just keeps flowing.

If it is a software issue, is there any possibility of resetting the device to factory defaults?

If you can't get it into miniboot/uboot (which you normaly do by interrupting with "s" when the message appears), i don't know a way to reset it.
