Hello all,
This is going to sound like a dumb question, but I'm new at this so you'll have to forgive me.
How can I change the default behaviour of when a phone defaults to voicemail, that is, some of the extensions ring and ring indefinitely and never go to voicemail, while others will divert after 5 or so rings.
Is there somewhere that I can change this.
I've looked but I still can't find anything

Have a look under users and then associate sets...that should do the trick 
"Be aware ask a stupid question without at least trying to find the answer first you may get a stupid answer....."

Yes you can. For users to ring indefinately, set their associated set to their extension number. Also under dynamic state user, do not forget to disable routing on busy and no answer.
As for the dynamic routing timer, this is a system wide setting and it is timer 4 (under system/go down heirarchy/timers/consult modify). If you change this all users will be affected.

Thirdly, try and use the appropriate forum. Your query should have gone in to the USERS forum. One reason for this is there might be someone who knows nothing about the 4760 but is a wizard on users and he'll miss your post!
