Hi Murray,

I have installed 2 sip phones, xlite 4 and zoiper as BigMac said, but neither works, i am using a codec called iLBC and it seems to work on one way, from sip softphone to digital users but when calling to the sip softphone from digital users , it rings but the call never establishes, this is using iLBC Codec, and i have change to other codecs G711u law, G711alaw, GSM,speex, but none work.

I followed the procedure that Vad told me to modify the ip domain compression parameters to G711, but as you said it seems to still sending G729 codecs.

Maybe this requires a reboot.

check the offer made for calls in each direction. you may find that when a call is made from the sip client an offer of different types of codecs are made i.e. iLBC,G711u, G711a. when the offer is made the OXE will agree on the G711. If a call is now made from the GD (because you call from a digital phone) it may only offer G729 as shown in the trace. The sip client can't use that so the call never works. Have you tried to make the domain settings "without compression"?

Hi people.

I'm posting in this topic because I have interest in it. I have one OXE running with SIP extensions. If I have some good information I post here.

Thanks.

HI Murray,

Just set to G711 and still doesn't work, i have changed it to G729 again and using xlite4.0 with iLBC codecs and it seems to be working.

BTW does someone knows how to display the name in the sip phone from caller OXE?

Thanks

Hi Murray,

Already set the domain settings for intra domain and extra domain as without compression and seems to be working. The only issue now, is how to make a pstn call from the sip phone, also some features as transfer, conference do not work. Any ideas?

Hi, is the phone configured as sip extn or sip device? If sip device check the trunk gp Pub net catagory, else make sure ars route and numbering discrimerators are correct for sip extn.

Hi Enrique

The sip extension needs to have external category like another extension that makes external calls. You dial external access code + number ( all together ). I have it working with G729. I have done some tests with call pick-up, imediate forward, forward on no reply, but in my case to make and receive internal and external calls are the priority.
