One think is want to learn (read manuals, read tips, read similar solutions) other totally different is to ask a step by step guide.

There are like 6 different posts about the same issue.

The idea of this forum is to help Alcatel users with some settings, but to teach how to create extensions, configure Voice Mails, etc is something you should learn at Alcatel University or at any Alcatel Business Partner as Knight said. There you learn basic settings and troubleshootings.
As you may understand we all are engineers or tech guys who are very busy and collaborate on this forum without any sort of retribution. The minimal thing we may ask is some basic knowdledge of what you are trying to configure.
It something like if i go and manage a DB on Oracle and all i know is the user and password and ask someone "Tell me how to create a SP that will trigger an action to update all tables and shrink others...." a Oracle DBA will tell me: "Log off from the system inmediatly".
Well you must understand we speak in a middle tech level and explaining how to do basic things many times takes us a lot of time because then one question triggers anothen and another and so on, things that are easily covered on a training.
We are happy to help but in response we only ask please don't make us work more than necessary.

It sounds like you have been offended - don't be. Go and look in some other message forums and you will see Cav laughing even at his own posts. We've been trying to work out for a long time how to make him stop laughing - kicking him up the ass is an option but my foot won't reach Peru... nro will anyone elses

This forum, IMHO, is for Alcatel techies. People who have been on Alcatel training courses, often at the expense of leaving their families/friends for 2 weeks everytime, to go and learn the basic stuff. Now when one of these guys gets a problem, the problem is made bigger by their customer who often starts squeezing the engineers balls for a fix!

Thats where the power of this forum comes in - normally a forum member will lose 2-3 nights sleep before posting a message asking for assistance, and then someone like Cav, or the other gurus, will come up with the jackpot answer.

Like Cav said - if we start to get simple queries, one or two of us are going to start to let off some steam. Capishe?
