Anyway it's strange despite the cost differenciation between oxo and oxe.

Again: It is working on both. On OXE you need advanced (not standard) license.

Now about the feature itself...using keys sucks to be called "dial-by-name" should be store-keys-using-search-by-name :/

Exept Alcatel I do not know any other phone with alfanumeric keyboards.
So I would say that dialing by name using the keypad is pretty normal and of course better than no directory.

Oh yeah, I mean, on pure PBX side of course ALU is the only one I think, but these days, Lync, many SIP interfaces integrate with LDAP and stuff like that so no more a "unique" feature...
Anyway, that is discussion for engineering level apart

strange...
i have checked this some times ago on a bics oxe (r9.1) and it didn't work even if the set has more multilines and uses the advanced license.
this means i can give the right for "call by name and minimail" for the telephone but a long press on the phonebook button doesn't bring up any call by name function. the only function that will work is that the 4018/9 can now receive text messages (even from another set which is forwarded to text message).

if i find some time... I'll recheck this on oxe r11.0.1...
