Hallo Maulwurf,

Thank you for your input, I have taken another look at the units and you may be correct as at the front, on the left hand side it only mentions 'OmniPCX' but at the rear I see 'Alcatel OmniPCX Office', but there is still no mention of a serial RJ45.

If you take a look at the '.....100650' file I attached earlier, the 8*RJ45's on the CPUe-1 board are:

'LAN' 'WAN' 'Audio-Out' 'Config'
'Module 1' 'Module 2' 'Audio-In' 'Doorphone'

Then there are 10* LED's and the 'power' button, the only other connection is a 'USB' port, I guess that this must be the serial connection?

Config is serial.
How you normally connect to pbx? Do you have SW 8770 or OMC?

Hi Maulwurf,

We normally connect a standalone pc running the pm5 software. According to documentation that I have found, a pc/pm5 should be connected to this 'Config' port but when I looked, there is no connection here so I am a little bemused as to how/where the pc is actually connected to. It was installed by the IT guys who are no longer with us so I guess I will have to take up the false floor and trace the actual cat5 cable :-(

If the 'Config' port is the 'serial', would the USB be used for uploading/downloading/storage the same as any other USB?

You ask basics. We cannot teach you step by step. Thats your job ;-) I saw your other post in this forum. So it would be better you make technical training. For your "urgent help needed" please consult an Alcatel Partner to help you. You can use google search or partner locator at Alcatel Website.

Hallo Maulwurf,

Thanks for your response.

I have now resolved the issue so 'Urgent help needed' is no longer 'needed'.

Re 'training', as the company have a) laid off all of the IT people and b) have already replaced what was the main communication platform i.e the AL with a VoIP switch, they are unlikely to allow me to go off training.
As we do still require the AL to allow us to access our switching network infrastructire, unfortunately it is very much ahands-on learning curve for me.

I have appreciated your input,

Oskar.
